New Member Induction takes place in November. Our board members and current members run the induction and celebration after the ceremony.
Santa on the Bridge is our annual fundraiser the two days before winter break. NHS students decorate the bridge connecting the old and new wings of the building, teachers bring their classes to get pictures taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus and students can purchase treats and hot cocoa and take Christmas-themed selfies with their friends. All of the money raised goes to a charity which the NHS members choose.
In May, NHS members can participate in our annual Spring Day of Service. For the past two years, NHS members and the advisors have tackled household chores and spring cleaning at Grace Guest House.
On Valentine’s Day, NHS runs a carnation sale. Students can purchase carnations for their friends in the morning and during lunches. Any money raised is donated to charity.
The fall can and bottle drive raises money for operating costs of our programs. The spring can & bottle drive raises money for NHS scholarships given to graduating members.
In addition to these activities, each member of NHS completes a minimum of 25 hours of community service throughout the year.
