Marching Band Q&A

  • Q: When is marching band season?
    A: Marching Band is primarily a fall "sport" of the arts.  September and October are the main season.  There are also summer rehearsals and band camp.  (Band Camp is in mid-late August - usually 2 or 3 weeks before school starts).

    Q: Are there summer rehearsals?
    A: Yes - band camp in late August (see above) - also some section (small group) meetings/ rehearsals.

    Q:  What is the fall schedule like?
    A:  During September and October rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursday from 6:00-8:45PM and on Saturdays late morning-early afternoon before traveling to shows on most Saturdays in September and October.

    Q:  How much does it cost to be in marching band?
    A: A "season fee" typically between $225 and $250 which includes:
    -Band Camp
          Bowling Night at Strikers
          Dance on the last evening (Carriager's Picnic Grove)
          Senior recognition activities
    -Fall Trip (overnight)
    -2 T-Shirts (Show shirt and section shirt)
    -Tour bus for championship weekend
    -Brunch, Snack and Dinner on championship weekend
    -Banquet for Student
