Occupational and Physical therapy is offered through the school district to students whose academic performance is adversely affected by fine and gross motor skill development, such as one or more of the following:

• OT
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Visual Motor and Visual Perceptual Skills
  • Sensory Processing Skills
• PT
  • Gross motor skills
  • Navigating the school environment

Balance and Coordination skills

These disorders must be moderate to severe in nature. Students are assessed by the Occupational and/or Physical therapist and are referred to the Committee on Special Education. A psychological evaluation is performed by the school psychologist to determine the student’s overall learning profile.

Children with developmental fine and gross motor delays (those delays that will develop naturally as the child matures) may not qualify for school based services.

Delivery of school-based services will be determined by the Committee on Special Education (CSE) on an individual basis.
